I believe by now, 95% of Singaporeans must have known of the name of "Lo Hwei Yen" - the hostage of the recent Mumbai terrorist attack that was killed. She was shot in twice in the head and abdomen.
It's been almost almost a week and her wake is still going on until Thursday. I understand the grief that her families are going through now as i have lost my best friend 7 years ago. It's just so hard to accept and to believe that what is happening is true. You simply wish it's just a dream and you will wake up soon. But fact being fact, there is no way we can change it. My heartfelt condolences go out to her families, especially her husband. I pray to God to give them wisdom and strength to go through this dark and painful moment. Though i do not know them personally, i really cannot imagine how he is going to live his life after the funeral. At least for these few days, her funeral is keeping him occupied and there are so many things for him to attend to. Once the funeral is over, when everyone starts to forget about this incident, he got to face the empty house alone, a home that used to be full of love and laughter, and yet now, she is gone and he is all alone. Friends, if you do know them personally, you may want to visit her families more after the funeral. My best friend's families did not even dare to stay at home after her funeral. The families stayed in a hotel until they bought a new house.
For those of you who are reading this, treasure everyone and all that we have today, for we do not know what's coming our way tomorrow.
